E Hoʻowaiwai Ē

An evening devoted to enriching, restoring value and fostering prosperity in the lives of justice impacted

At ʻEkolu Mea Nui, we are committed to transformation through healing and hope, believing that true prosperity begins with second chances. Our initiatives are deeply rooted in this philosophy. The success of our E Hoʻowaiwai Ē event will help sustain these efforts, particularly in our work to end intergenerational incarceration through the expansion of Nā ʻŌpio Waiwai, our Youth Council, and support successful reentry through Hoʻiwai, our ʻohana support system for families with incarcerated loved ones.

Sponsorship Levels

Your sponsorship will directly support these vital initiatives. By purchasing a table at E Hoʻowaiwai Ē, you will ensure that we can continue to provide these transformative experiences and expand our reach to more families and youth in need, in our commitment to end the over representation of Native Hawaiians in the carceral system.

January 19th was chosen to honor two extraordinary leaders, Queen Liliʻuokalani and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., both of whom devoted their lives to justice and freedom. Queen Liliʻuokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarch, exemplified grace and resilience in her tireless fight to preserve her people's sovereignty and rights in the face of oppression.

Similarly, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a champion of the civil rights movement, led with unwavering conviction, advocating for equality, nonviolence, and the dignity of all. Together, their legacies remind us of the enduring power of love, justice, and the belief that all people have the strength to overcome adversity. All qualities necessary for justice reform.
